RJ Curington is a real estate, business, and litigation attorney and the founder of Curington Law, LLC, a boutique law firm known for finding creative, direct, and efficient representation.
RJ tirelessly and zealously works to build trust and long-standing relationships with his clients, who rely on his counsel, representation, negotiation, and advocacy to forge speedy, practical paths to move forward.
RJ Curington is an attorney licensed in Illinois, Indiana, and Florida with a background in business law, real estate, intellectual property law, and sports and entertainment law. RJ founded Curington Law with the goal of helping individuals, business owners, home buyers and sellers, companies, entertainers, and athletes realize their potential and reach successful solutions for their legal needs. He utilizes a proactive, team-based approach to helping his clients achieve their unique goals through consultative communication, and prioritizes prompt, equitable, and innovative results.

Prior to starting the firm, he spent time and is continuing work as a mortgage loan originator in Chicago and has gained extensive knowledge of the banking, finance, investment, and real estate industry. He also worked for a law firm focused on developing start-up companies, where he was exposed to entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, trademark and copyright filing, negotiations, and drafted a wide variety of agreements. He also gained valuable experience in law school through clinical work at DePaul's Business Law Clinic, where he provided legal counsel to business entities on transactional matters that included contract drafting, corporate governance, entity formation, employment law, and intellectual property.
Before obtaining his law degree, RJ gained his master's degree in marketing and worked for a leading sports agency and sports marketing firm. RJ enjoyed a successful career as a former Division I student-athlete for DePaul University's men's basketball team and played high-school basketball for national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy where his team won a national championship with an historic 44-0 record.
Outside of work, RJ is a philanthropist in Chicago. He is a member of various charitable organizations. RJ also is an active member of numerous bar associations and co-chairs Chicago Bar Association's Media and Entertainment Law Committee and is an At-Large Executive associate board member of the Lawyers for the Creative Arts and a associate board member of Mercy Homes for Boys and Girls and Legal Prep Charter Academy. RJ has written legal articles published in local and national publications and newsletters. RJ is also the author of Beyond the Game, a book that helps student-athletes and individuals enhance their careers and obtain success and personal fulfillment.
